After pushing myself to my limits in two myzone challenges, I got hooked on fitness and wanted a personal challenge. In June, I decided to have a chat with Joe about what it would take to change my physique and build a strong, healthy body to head into my 40's in February. Looking back on my ‘before’ pictures, I had a good fitness level but my shape wasn’t what I wanted. Building muscle was (and still is) the goal, but I am really happy with the changes in my shape so far. It took a few months to get to grips with reducing my cardio training, changing my diet, learning how to lift weights and enjoy it and it’s been a rollercoaster journey with lots of mistakes along the way. I still struggle with the discipline it takes to change so much all at once but it’s a great experience and I’m learning a lot about myself in the process. I want to stop battling with my body and learn to love it and after these 6 months of training, I feel stronger and more confident in the gym and that I’m well on the way to achieving my goal.
